In My Mailbox (4)

IMM is hosted by Krisit at The Story Siren!

From NetGalley:

The Vespertine

The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell
Jane Austen: A Life Revealed by Catherine Reef

The Vespertine immediately caught my eye when I first saw the cover. Gorgeous. I'm a couple chapters in and I love it.

Love, Meg

Love, Meg by C. Leigh Purtill

I was thumbing through the picture books with my nephew at the Dollar Tree and came across this book. Maureen Johnson endorses it on the cover, so I thought for a dollar, I couldn't lose. And this summary from Goodreads makes it sound like a good book:

Meg Shanley always believed that her parents died when she was a baby. Since then, she and her older sister Lucie have lived a nomadic life, never settling down long enough for Meg to feel like anything but the new girl. Alone in her uncertainty and confusion, Meg writes letters to Jennifer Aniston for advice. Unlike Lucie, Jen is stable. She's on Meg's TV-no matter where Meg happens to be living-every night at eleven. For a few years, Jennifer even writes back.

But now Jen's letters have stopped. Meg and Lucie are in LA, in a tiny apartment, when a stranger shows up and reveals a seemingly impossible secret. She discovers she has relatives in New York she never knew existed. Meg travels across the country to find her family-and uncover the truth about her life. But instead, what she finds is the source of her own inner strength.

  1. I grabbed a copy of Vespertine from NetGalley too. Haven't had a chance to read it yet but it sounds fabulous.

  2. I actually just finished THE VESPERTINE. It was good!

    New follower :)

  3. I'm looking forward to The Vespertine! I've been reading some conflicting reviews for it, so I'm glad you are enjoying it so far. The cover is just too lovely :) And I will read anything Maureen Johnson endorses.
